About me
I am Tami, and it’s so nice to meet you.
The world that I envision is one where each and every human being is honored, valued, and dignified in their wholeness, brilliance, and beauty. It’s a world where everyone has the ability to feel a deep sense of belonging and thrive. It’s a world that embraces, celebrates, and embodies healing, liberation, and — ultimately — freedom.
I’m about personal and collective healing, systems and culture change work, transformative and liberatory practices. My coaching practice centers racial healing and justice, being trauma-informed, and in showing care through mindfulness, somatic practices, and other transformative modalities.
As an executive coach for social change, I support primarily self-identified white women, which is my own lived experience. Together, we explore what needs to heal within us individually and collectively, to disrupt the patterns and behaviors that are in contradiction to our stated values and commitments, and to become more effective in our movement-building efforts, organizing, and leadership professional practices.
More about who I am and my experiences
I’m a white, cis, Jewish woman and grateful mother who has been dedicated to a lifelong journey of deepening my awareness and healing from the ways in which I have embodied oppressive cultural norms and injurious social conditioning. From a young age I was a seeker. I had my first experience in a therapeutic modality when I was around 5 years old and over the last almost 50 years I have continued on an intentional, windy, often challenging journey of exploring and healing from generational wounds, personal traumas, embodied harmful behavioral patterns, and engaging in deeper self-discovery, ancestral recovery, and transformational work specific to my leadership professional practices. This personal journey grounds my work as an Executive Coach for Social Change and Healing Centered Practice Consultant.
For over 30 years, I’ve worked in the fields of Child and Youth Development and Education, Leadership and Organizational Development, Community Organizing, and Systems Change. I’ve worked for nonprofit and non-governmental organizations and within public and private sectors globally.
Notably, for over a decade I worked in international development for the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF and other international organizations). I’ve lived and worked in numerous countries throughout East and Southern Africa, South Asia, Europe, and Central and South America.
I currently serve as a Lead Associate for the Racing to Equity Consulting Group,, and I have been recognized for my contributions in the fields of Social Work, Youth Development and Global Human Rights Work and have performed a number of keynotes and speaking engagements at Schools of Social Work across the nation and numerous conferences.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Child Development and Education from Long Island University-Global College. I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. I am a certified coach and received my training and Coaching Certification through Seattle Life Coach Training. In addition, I have studied Somatic Abolitionism with Resmaa Menakem, and the somatic lineages through Strozzi Institute and Generative Somatics. I have received a certificate in Healing Centered Education through the Acosta Institute and a certificate in Healing Centered Engagement through Flourish Agenda. I have studied and trained with brilliant scholars across the world over decades in numerous modalities that continue to guide and inform my practices and I believe contribute to making my ancestors proud.
I’m also a blessed mama through a sacred and beautiful open adoption, creating a new meaning of family. I currently reside in Lafayette, Colorado. I am an avid lover of the outdoors, music, adventure, travel, play, and healing. I seek quiet solitude while also tending to my extroverted nature through spending time with family and friends and imaginative play with my little one! I value getting my hands in the dirt and growing food for my family and community. I love every form of water there is to swim in, relax in, bathe in, and meditate next to.
